I’ve been into trucks and the outdoors for as long as I can remember. Forest roads, gravel under the tires, campfires at night — that stuff stuck with me early and never really left.
Over time that turned into owning my own rigs, figuring things out the hard way, upgrading parts, planning trips, cooking over a fire instead of using a stove when I can. It wasn’t some big “I’m going to be an overlander” moment. It just grew naturally from wanting to get outside more and go a little farther each time.
This site is just an extension of that.
I’m not claiming to be an expert. I’m not sponsored. I’m not building some massive, over-the-top show rig. I daily drive a Colorado that sees trails on the weekends. I’ve got a ’91 Blazer I’m slowly building the way I want it — lockers, gears, learning as I go. I’ve made good decisions and a few I’d probably rethink. That’s part of it.
What you’ll find here is simple:
-
Trails I’ve actually driven
-
Gear I actually use
-
Thoughts on things like lockers, tires, cooking setups, and what works for me
-
Trips that were worth taking, not just places to check off a list
I like making good food at camp. I like running forest roads at my own pace. I like the mechanical side of building a truck that fits how I use it. Most of all, I like being outside — whether that’s a quiet pull-off by a creek or just sitting by a fire after a long drive.
This isn’t about chasing trends or pretending every trip is some epic expedition. It’s about getting out there consistently and enjoying it.
If you’re into overlanding, off-roading, camping, or just figuring out how to make your truck work better for how you actually use it, you’ll probably find something here that makes sense.
